MIXED-AGE

These groups are for a wider age range, perfect for families or parents who are interested in a mixed-age group experience.

MUSIC FOR MILESTONES: BIRTH - AGE 2

​

Music for Milestones is our "baby" music group for children age 2 & under. This group is held in a space with minimal safety concerns or distractions. It is the perfect group for children to attend with a caregiver as their first music group.

ITSY BITSY BOOK CLUB: AGE 2-3

​

Itsy Bitsy Book Club is our toddler music group for children age 2 & 3. This group provides a wide range of opportunities for sensory exploration with a "preschool prep" type structure. Each session of this group explores favorite authors and stories with music, crafts, sensory play, snacks, and more.

MULTI-WEEK SESSIONS: AGE 6 & UNDER

SING & SHARE​

Sing & Share is a music playgroup for children to build early skills through music exploration. This group fosters an early love of music while also promoting socialization, language development, and early musical development. 

NATUREPLAY & RHYTHM: AGE 3-6

​

Natureplay & Rhythm is our "preschool" age music group for children age 3 to 6. This group takes place outside, year-round, and has a heavy emphasis on social skills. Each group has a mix of structured music time and lots of open exploration in nature, promoting skills like social play, communication, teamwork, self-confidence, and risk assessment.

UKULELE & ME: AGE 5-12, ON HOLD

Ukulele & Me is our school-age music group for children age 5-12. We offer this group in level one for beginners and level 2 for kids who would like to continue learning beyond the level one skills. These groups teach kids how to care for and play the ukulele, while also nurturing skills like sustained attention to tasks, fine motor skills, self-confidence, early music education, and more.

WEEK TO WEEK DROP-INS: AGE 6 & UNDER

MUSIC & ME at MY PLAY CAFE​

Music & Me is a multi-age music playgroup designed to support children’s socialization and other early learning goals. In this group children will practice developmental skills through music and movement. Music included in OPEN PLAY.

NATURE STORYTIME at THE ARBORETUM​

​

Nature Storytime is an outdoor, seasonal playgroup that promotes early skill development through music exploration. This group fosters an early love of music, nature, and literature. Music is included in admission, so plan for some time to enjoy the beautiful nature trails.

TIME TRAVELERS at OLD SHAWNEE TOWN​

​

Time Travelers is an experience for children of all ages, designed to take you back to the 1920's. This group uses 1920's appropriate music and instruments to explore social and academic learning goals. Multiple 1920's experiences are included with registration.

In our Music Enrichment Groups we aim to create a safe and welcoming environment where families can connect and children can build age-appropriate skills through musical play!

We offer groups for children of all ages and in many different session styles, to fit the needs of your family.

WHO: Each group is led by a Board-Certified Music Therapist, who is trained to design appropriate brain-based interventions, adapt music to fit the needs of each child, facilitate healthy attachments, and build age-appropriate developmental skills! WHAT: Our unique and interactive, evidence-based programs help children to develop quality connections, while also nurturing their development. Each group is designed to address specific goal areas including communication, motor skills, academics, focus, social/emotional development, impulse control, and more. Activities may include singing, music exploration, movement/dancing, chanting, improvisation, stories, musical games, sign-language songs, instrument-play, and more! 
 


WHERE: We do not have a centralized location. Our therapists provide music groups at many amazing locations all over the community! While many of our groups are in Johnson County, you can also find groups in Kansas City, Louisburg, Gardner, and more. We are always expanding to meet the needs of the community.
 


WHY: Many children love music in an innate way! Research has shown us that children also learn most effectively when they are motivated and having fun. This is why children are capable of learning so many things through exposure to music experiences. As Board-Certified Music Therapists, our teachers have been trained to design and adapt music activities to address the long-term brain development facilitating specific learning goals, milestones, behavior changes.
